Questions about audiology:
-
Hearing loss is complex. Generally, it's slow to develop, at first reducing our ability to hear certain sounds. As hearing loss worsens, the more loss of "understanding" or "clarity" a person will experience.
-
We come right to your front door! Most often, we set up our mobile equipment at your kitchen table, although we can set-up almost anywhere.
The test and consult generally take 45–60 minutes and follow with a discussion of the results and recommendations, right on the spot.
If you don't feel comfortable having someone visit your home you can schedule an appointment at our family hearing center.
-
Different degrees of hearing loss need different solutions. Getting an evaluation from a trained audiologist is the first step. We walk you through the process and make recommendations. It’s our job to help you select the best option. Over time, we continue to care for your hearing journey and the changes that take place.
-
For most patients with “ringing” in the ears, it's a side effect of auditory damage. The ringing, called tinnitus, is a condition common with a history of exposure to hazardous noise.
-
There is still no known cure for tinnitus to date. But, there are many treatment options that often prove to be successful and improve your quality of life. After a hearing evaluation, we'll craft a solution to address the tinnitus.
-
It's easy to get overwhelmed by all the options. The best place to begin is with an evaluation and diagnosis. This helps you narrow down the options to the devices that best fit your situation.
